Remembering Miki


The 25th of January in Benfica’s history is also a day to remember the death of player Miklos Feher. Miki died on the pitch between the match Vitoria Guimaraes-Benfica at the age of 24 from a sudden cardiac arrest.

Feher’s death was a broadcasted live on TV and the touching and distressful moment has made many grown men cry and stand in shock.

After being booked Feher is seen smiling and a few seconds later he crouches down, falls and the rest is one of the saddest moments in Benfica’s history.

Feher played 29 games for Benfica in 2 seasons between 2002 and 2004 after joining from FC Porto and scored 7 goals.

Benfica’s entire squad, traveled to Hungary to present Fehér's parents with the 04–05 league championship medal, in respect for his time and contribution to the club.
